Ottavino agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Mets on March 14, 2022. Ottavino pitched 66 times for the Mets during the regular season, all as a reliever, posting a 6-3 record, three saves, and a significantly lower 2.06 ERA; he struck out 79 hitters in 65.2 innings.
He threw one inning in Game 2 of the National League Wild Card Series against the San Diego Padres, his only playoff outing, and gave up one run. The following night, the Mets dropped the series.
Ottavino renewed his two-year, $14.5 million deal with the Mets after the 2022 campaign.
